We are proud to have completed our latest project – custom-built lighting for the newly openedRestaurant Himlen in Stockholm. Our assignment was to hand-create lamps from carefully designed drawings, tailored to enhance the interior and create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The renovation is thought out down to the smallest detail, where material selection, art and design work together to create a dynamic environment. Stockholm artist Maria Krull contributes large-scale works on plexiglass and canvas that give the room a unique and artistic touch. Our handmade lighting creations complement the harmony of concrete, glass, wood, leather and brass, where each element balances the raw with the soft.
The Himlen project has allowed us to explore new techniques and materials, which has given us valuable inspiration for future assignments and creations. The new atmosphere means an aesthetic upgrade and a more inviting environment for guests, with humane price levels that allow more people to enjoy the fantastic view of Stockholm.

In our latest project together with Studio Modijefsky, we have explored new frontiers in lighting design and our 3D printing technology, to realize the vision for Hotel Rumour. In this historic space, a former 17th century carriage house located at the foot of the Burcht van Leiden, the team has created a place where past meets present – and we were given the honorable mission of helping to illuminate this journey.
Our focus was on creating lighting installations that integrate into the hotel’s architectural details, with each light source playing a role in shaping the atmosphere. From ceiling-mounted light cubes that reflect the deep, historical details to lighting that enhances the rooms’ modern, playful expression – we worked to ensure that each element would blend in while simultaneously standing out. The result? A warm and inviting light that underlines Hotel Rumour’s character, without dominating its unique design.
The project has also been mentioned in several reputable architecture and design platforms such as Amazing Architecture , Archello , and Hospitality Design .
On September 28-29, we participated in Färgfabriken's Autumn Market, one of Stockholm's largest gathering places for arts and crafts and design. This year we were also asked to create a unique light installation in the beautiful and historic venue Smedjan. For this, we developed a specially designed spiral-shaped, drop-shaped lamp that filled the room with a warm, soft light that enhanced the rustic atmosphere and caught the attention of many visitors.
It was great fun to meet all the curious and engaged visitors, and their positive reactions to the installation have given us inspiration. In the future, we will add new designs to the range. Maybe this lamp will be available for sale soon?
Pyr has recently become a favorite among interior designers and architects looking for unique and sustainable lighting solutions. Our lamps are now visible in several restaurants and bars in Stockholm. We also create custom lamps that combine our signature materials with new, bold color palettes.
We look forward to continuing to collaborate with both local and international design projects. Where we can design completely unique lamps that are produced with the venue in mind. We strive to set the standard for sustainable design by choosing materials that combine aesthetics and environmental awareness. Our lampshades are made from a blend of cellulose and PLA – a plant-based plastic. This unique filament is not only sustainable, but also biodegradable and provides a warm, comfortable light.
The wood used in our products is ethically sourced, meaning we only use trees that would otherwise be cut down. This strategy minimizes waste and allows us to offer lamps with minimal environmental impact.
The electronics come from Swedish manufacturers to ensure the highest quality and durability. All parts are handmade in our studio with the goal of minimizing our fossil footprint in production while delivering a fantastic product.

I en vardag där många bor tätt, lever snabbt och arbetar hemifrån, är behovet av rätt ljus större än någonsin. Forskning visar att belysning påverkar både humör och prestation. Kallt, riktat ljus stödjer koncentration. Varmt ljus hjälper kroppen att slappna av. Våra lampor lampor är både funktionella och vackra, både i tänt och släckt läge.
Pyr har lång erfarenhet av att arbeta med ljus i komplexa miljöer, från restauranger till hem och offentliga ruam. Vår design bygger på förståelsen för hur ljus rör sig, hur det landar i ett rum och hur det påverkar dem som vistas där.
